“the joy of running partners” redux

One of the attractions that running has for me is the fact that it’s a pursuit that I can do alone. I lace up my running shoes, head out the door and run to my heart’s content. There's no need to call up friends, family or other runners to see if they can join me.

That’s how I started running. Recently though, my perspective’s changed a bit.

Since I started running with Orange County Trail Runners a few months ago, I’ve found and learned to appreciate the joy of running with others. I’m sure most of you can relate, but I'd like to point you in the direction of this well-articulated blog entry by one of my OCTR mates, Nattie. I think it hits the spot.

the joy of running partners

Enjoy.

i still do my runs alone, especially since no one in his or her right mind would be awake at 4AM every day...i like the peace and tranquility of an early morning run...besides, i can do more miles when i start early than when i go by mid-morning...

if i do run with others, it is usually in the company of good friends but for now each has his or her own sked to run...i run with my team, but most often am at the sidelines giving them coaching tips...

yes, it is fun being with someone to run with...if only we were all just next-door neighbors then it wouldn't just be a fleeting fancy...

hitme...i do some runs alone from time to time too. sometimes it's necessary, but for those long runs that stretch for a few hours or those early morning runs, it sure is nice to have running partners.

btw, whoever said that runners are in their right minds anyway? :)

uy likewise here. i got couple of friends but they prefer other stuff over running. thus, my daily solo run at the leviste park is nothing but a common site. yes it gives me the time to be with myself, but i know too that i'd persevere more if i'd have a running partner :-) waaah! i need some luvin' este company. hahahah! j/k!

banggi...got plenty of luvin' to pass around. if i make it out there and you're not off wandering somewhere, i'll go running with ya. and of course if you're out here, i'll show you some of my fave spots :)

steph...sd and oc aren't too far away, so i'm sure we'll see you out here soon after your move. you'll be more than welcome, of course. btw some octr peeps are doing the trt. look for them wearing our club logo.
